NSW: Suteski loses appeal over conviction

SYDNEY, Sept 19 AAP - Accounts clerk Sneza Suteski has lost her appeal against a murderconviction for the killing of her boss in an elaborate plot to steal more money from thecompany.

Suteski, 23, from Sydney's Hurstville, was jailed in May for at least 18 years overthe stabbing death of Richard Piech, 51, on December 20, 1999.

A jury found Suteski guilty of murder after she ordered a 22-year-old drug addict to"stab him, bash him, I don't care, kill him if you want just as long as he does not cometo work".

Suteski had devised an elaborate fraud at Newman's car dealership in Kogarah whichnetted her $289,000 over seven months.

She wanted Mr Piech out of the way to secure one final heist before she left the company.

However the NSW Court of Appeal today dismissed the appeal, finding Justice David Kirbyhad made no errors during the trial.
